Strengthening communication skills of police officers - Enhancing the exemplary neighborhood policing program of a major US city
In conjunction with its Community Policing initiatives, CMI helped a major US city strengthen the listening, communication, and presentation skills of 1300 law enforcement professionals, ranging from patrol officers and headquarter personnel to command staff. CMI custom-designed training seminars that reinforced the importance that these professionals be able to sell themselves and their ideas effectively in all face to-face encounters.
Making a strong first impression - Staying pro-active in the wake of a merger action
When a savvy professional wanted to gain the recognition of a new management team during a large-scale merger, she asked CMI to help her communicate the value of her department members. CMI created executive profiles for each team member, featuring a photo of each member, brief summaries of their qualifications and assignment responsibilities, and key individual and team achievements. The effort was a success, resulting in the retention of department members after the merger.
Leveraging technology to expand student learning opportunities - Training educators to reach potential new markets
When a consortium of 20 colleges and universities implemented a new distance learning technology to reach new markets, CMI was called upon to create a training program. Our program not only familiarized educators with the new videoconferencing technology, it demonstrated techniques that would engage classroom and off-site audiences simultaneously. This program was credited with teaching "old dogs" (educators who felt their presentation skills were solid) "new tricks" (skills and confidence in using the new technology effectively).
Building community goodwill - Coaching a CEO of a relatively new enterprise
CMI conducted individual coaching sessions with the CEO of a technology company in central Massachusetts that was announcing the attainment of a major certification at a high profile event. CMI helped him craft an important message, practice the delivery of key remarks and prepare answers to questions from the media.

Participants used this learning resource at their convenience. Users benefited from online editors who provided feedback on their writing samples and the opportunity to complete the program at their own pace.

The Purchasing Director of a major healthcare insurance provider felt that exceptional customer service was the best approach for ensuring that his department remained the first option for serving the specific needs of its internal clients.
CMI worked with this client to create a new customer service program called “Own The Opportunity.”
